Devil's Cauldron, Whale Beach, Dolphin Bay, Sydney, NSW, Australia

Last Sunday went to the Whale Beach to shoot Devil’s Cauldron for the first time. I must say that it is absolutely fantastic place. However it’s really difficult to shoot as it’s facing directly to sunrise. For this shot I used two Grad ND filters (0.6 and 0.9) stacked together. Exposure is about 4.5 minutes at f11 and ISO 100.

If you want to go there then check excellent Photographer’s Guide to Devil’s Cauldron by Brent Pearson. Brent already mentioned that in his guide but I have to say it again - walk to this place in the daylight before going there at night. 20 minutes rock hopping in the dark when you don’t know the way could be dangerous.
