Back from China

Finally I’m back home! Spent 2.5 weeks hiking in China Mountains – Huangshan (Yellow Mountains), Wulingyuan (Zhangjiajie National park) and Longji (Longsheng country). Also spent a few days shooting karst hills near Yangshuo (Guilin) and a day in Guangzhou and Shanghai. I made this trip together with my friend, Ukrainian landscape and travel photographer Eugene Timashov and my wife Irina, author of the “My 100 Roads” travel and geoblog. (My apologies, both resources are non-English)

The Photography God wasn’t able to agree with the Weather God and therefore we had only one nice sunrise and no sunsets at all. Rain and heavy fog were our companions for the entire trip, however I’m still happy with the outcome of the trip. Nature in China is just amazing. I could spend years shooting landscapes there. I wish I had more time.

The photo above is one of the classical views of Shanghai city: Pudong business district skyline and Huangpu river from the Bund. The Bund is just an old street with buildings and wharves and boardwalk along the Huangpu river and it is one of the most famous tourist destinations in Shanghai. The rain was pouring for the entire day when I was in Shanghai, but stopped for a few minutes so I was able to make this shot.
