One Flew Over the Aoraki / Mount Cook

When I made this shot I was hoping that the big mountain in the center could be the Aoraki/Mount Cook. What else it could be? And when I returned back home and checked the image under 100% resolution I realised I was right. You can even see lake Pukaki behind Mount Cook. Quite impressive view...

Northern Tien-Shan Mountains, View from Almaty City, Almaty, Kazakhstan

Made this photo a three years ago on the last trip to my home city, Almaty, the former capital of Kazakhstan. The highest mountain on the photo is Small Almaty Peak and it’s 4376m (14,357ft) high. It’s interesting that Small Almaty Peak is actually much higher than High Almaty Peak which is only 3700m (12,139ft)...
