Late afternoon sunlight bathes Venice in a golden glow as seen from the Ponte dell'Accademia. The Grand Canal, alive with gondolas and vaporettos, winds past historic palazzos toward the majestic Basilica di Santa Maria della Salute. This Baroque masterpiece, completed in 1687, was built as a votive offering after the 1630 plague decimated a third of Venice's population. Its luminous white dome, designed by Baldassare Longhena, rises above the cityscape, symbolising hope and resilience. From this vantage point, the interplay of light and water captures the timeless beauty of Venice.
